In celebration of the Chinese New Year, let's meet and learn more about the Chinese zodiac animal of Senator Francis Escudero -the Rooster. (That's how talented Team Chiz! members are. He is quite the extrovert who loves to strut his stuff and is proud of who he is. Outwardly confident, the Rooster is also a trustworthy, hardworking individual. He’ll tell it like it is with no qualms or reservations. (This is quite obvious with the senator!)Roosters are very loyal individuals. They do not like dishonesty or mockery of any sort. They are blunt, up front and honest people and expect those around them to be the same. Roosters are happiest when they are surrounded by others, at a party or just a social gathering. They do have a tendency to be a bit bossy and this combined with a bluntness can cause hurt feelings and bruised egos amongst co-workers. Still, these Roosters make great leaders, creative, diligent and motivated.- Notice the eccentricities of a rooster person? Yup. Roosters are full of eccentricities but still make great leaders. It's normal. Give one famous leader in history and he has eccentricities. For example, Mahatma Gandhi. The Great Soul of India is a tenacious observer of his daily bowel movements. Roosters are typically fit people. They enjoy sports and active hobbies such as hiking and swimming. They don’t get sick very often because they tend to fight illness fairly well. However, when they do get ill, they usually bounce right back. Roosters can be a little high strung, suffering from dramatic mood swings and stress.(So if he ever becomes the president...we can expect that he'll not distress the country with reports of diarrhea.)As proud as they are of themselves, you can only imagine how they are about their homes. Roosters put a lot of effort into their homes as they reflect the Roosters assets and taste. They are very neat and clean and have everything in its own specific place. They are hard working, flexible individuals able to stick to the given tasks. Roosters are quite protective of their children, always nurturing them and caring for them. Sometimes they can be a bit overprotective in trying to keep them safe. They are known to be very strict with their children demanding respect not only for others, but their environments and surroundings. Rooster parents will absolutely not tolerate bad manners and are caught up in the way their children represent them while they’re not there.

Roosters are generally pretty black or white when it comes to their feelings. They either like you, or they don’t. There is no in between. Although they are vocal with opinions and ideas, Roosters are pretty tight-lipped about their personal emotions and feelings. They certainly don’t wear their hearts on their sleeves. They are intensely private people who never kiss and tell.

Roosters are not extremely easy to live with. However, if you can get past their bossy, obstinate, my way or no way exterior, you find a wonderfully romantic, caring individual hidden beneath. Their hearts are made of solid gold and they genuinely care abut their family and friends as mush as they care about themselves (believe it or not!). They are not suited for a sensitive partner, again, their candor and wit can be humiliating at times. Roosters can be highly critical of their partners, often expecting too much of them. Roosters need a stable companion, one who can take everything he dishes out. He needs someone who will stand up to him and his mincing words and out him in place when need be. Roosters also need partners who will deflate them when they are a bit too high on themselves and who can take their constant boasting.
